A Little History

lipservice

lipservice is an annual Jimmy Fallon inspired lip sync battle for charity. Born as an idea in 2013, lipservice was formed with the intention to create amazing and memorable social experiences in which people can feel good knowing that a night of pure fun can translate into tangible contribution in communities across the world.

Since 2014, lipservice has raised over $125,000 in support of our charity partner, imagine1day, and has grown into one of the must-attend events in Vancouver (in our minds, anyway).

Why We Do It

imagine1day-BW

lipservice has been proud to support imagine1day charity since our first event in 2014. Through the dedication and hard work of our incredible performers and supporters, we’ve raised over $125,000 in six years, which has been invested by imagine1day into holistic education projects in Ethiopia.

We’re excited to announce that imagine1day has joined forces with another incredible Canadian non-profit, WE Charity. Together, the two organizations have partnered to create a bright, impactful future, continuing to build on imagine1day’s work in Ethiopia and WE Charity’s sustainable impact to East Africa and the Horn of Africa.

Our 2020 event will continue to support imagine1day’s work in Ethiopia via this exciting partnership with WE Charity. To learn more about this exciting merger, click here.

Squad Goals

lipservice was founded by Rachel Kelly, Michelle Lazar, and Mitchell Ballentine – arguably the most bad ass trio of straight-up bosses ever. In 2018, the OG crew took to the stage for the last time, passing the torch mic onto newcomers – Alyssa Reyes and Steph Mihalatos.

When not planning the next lipservice, you can find them sporting all the sports, dancing like no one is watching, or doing 9-5 day-job things like planning (more) events.

If you see them running (or biking) around Vancouver, or at the next lipservice, don’t hesitate to say hi! They are a chatty pair.
